This peaceful resort is located close to the picturesque holiday resort of Los Gigantes in the west of the island. It is backed by dramatic cliffs that will take your breath away and has a spotless sweep of natural black sand which is one of the cleanest beaches on the island and which boasts Blue Flag status. As well as a lovely beach there is a stunning beachfront promenade with a great selection of restaurants, bars and Tavernas with some of the best Tapas around. In fact, for a fairly small resort, Playa de la Arena boasts a vast array of restaurants, ranging from the big and bold to small and intimate venues. For those wanting to venture a little further there is an excellent farmer's market at nearby Playa San Juan which sells a wealth of local produce, a weekly market at Alcala selling great African crafts and, of course, Los Gigantes with its busy harbour and famous cliffs. This area is the ideal retreat for those who are seeking villas in Tenerife where they can switch off and unwind in a tranquil location away from the main tourist areas. Transfer time 45 minutes.
