The Gran Melia Volcan is a superb hotel, designed and built to resemble a typical Canarian village, by the architect A. Pineiro. Its carefully designed series of small buildings blend perfectly into the local surroundings and there are even some replicas of local monuments within the beautiful garden areas.
There is a spectacular, church-style entrance to the hotel, from where guests enter the heart of the village, El Volcán (the volcano). Here lies the hotel’s reception, bars, shops and comfortable lounges. As you stroll around the hotel, you will find typically Spanish small squares and corners inviting you to sit down, relax and admire the surroundings.
Location
The Gran Melia Volcan is ideally located on the ocean front, adjacent to the Yacht Marina Rubicon and just 900m from the picturesque resort of Playa Blanca on the southern coast of Lanzarote. The hotel is 10km from the impressive Timanfaya National Park, 3km from the famous beach at Papagayo and a 35 minute drive from the International Airport at Arrecife.

The hotel has 255 rooms, including Junior Suites and one-bedroomed Suites, which are located in 20 Canarian style houses. All rooms enjoy spectacular views of the sea, the marina, the pretty resort of Playa Blanca or the fabulous pools and gardens. Each room is decorated in harmony with the islands wonderful colours and contains all of the comforts and facilities expected of a 5 star establishment.
