Playa San Juan is a haven of tranquillity, located on the west coast just a 15 minute drive from Los Gigantes and is one of few fishing villages in Tenerife where you can still get a glimpse of 'real' Canarian life. This town has a delightful working harbour where you can see the small fishing boats going out in the morning and coming back with their catch, which they then sell from the boats to the tourists and locals. The long, sweeping promenade is dotted with charming cafes, restaurants and old-style tapas bars whilst the town itself has a good selection of supermarkets, a twice weekly market and a variety of shops to entice visitors. There is also a little church, a village square, a pretty marina where you can take whale and dolphin sight-seeing trips and two beaches. The first is a small shallow cove which is ideal for families with children and the second a long recently developed sandy beach. The water is extremely clear and Playa San Juan is therefore very popular with divers. Despite its appeal, Playa San Juan still retains its Spanish roots and offers visitors a ‘real experience' of the island making it the perfect location for villas in Tenerife. Some of our most popular villas in Tenerife are served by Playa San Juan and its neighbours. Transfer time 35 minutes.
